Dear Club Marbella,

We just want to thank you for once more letting us have a wonderful time at your resort.
Everyone is so nice and helpful and courteous. This was our fifth stay at your hotel. Because of the Corona-virus we had to leave earlier than planned. We do hope that we can be able to come back next year. We pray for you and hope that you all will be fine, and that the hotel will come through these very difficult times.

Best regards
Svein Borud and Mai-Lis Nygard

Dear Crown Points Members and Guests,

The present situation has taken us all away from our daily routine and it is important to find a new routine to maintain our mental and physical health.

From all of us, we hope you find some our suggestions below useful.

  • Have a regular bedtime routine and get plenty of sleep. In the morning, have a shower, medítate, do some exercise, have breakfast and get dressed in comfortable clothing but not pyjamas.
  • Organise your day and set yourself some goals.
  • Plan your meals choosing healthy food to give you plenty of nutrients. Avoid saturate and processed food and unnecessary sugar.
  • Follow an exercise routine daily or every other day. There are many free workouts on YouTube, so no excuses!
  • Look at the positives from being at home. Share conversations with your family, telephone a friend – be communicative!
  • Dig out the books you have kept for “when I have time to read” – that time has come!
  • Organise your house. Having a good clear out and tidy up helps keep your mind organised.
  • Learn a new language or skills using one of the many online learning platforms.
  • Have fun – try new recipes, watch movies, listen to music, sing or dance.

Remember that this situation will pass and we should try to make the most of it.  Stay positive and rest assured that we will be waiting to welcome you at the resort when the world is back to normal.

Stay positive, stay at home and stay healthy

Dear Crown Points Members and Guests,

Following the outbreak of Coronavirus COVID-19, the resorts are now closed due to there being complete “lockdown” enforced in Spain which includes border closures and no incoming flights.

Crown Resorts have complied with all Government requirements during the ‘State of Emergency’ currently in place until 26th April 2020 (date correct at the time of writing) and includes the measures below:

  • All pools have been closed (indoor and outdoor pools).
  • All common areas have been closed, including: saunas, changing rooms, fitness area, multi-use sport courts, squash and paddle courts, children’s playgrounds, food and beverage outlets (Café Marbella at Club Marbella and L.A. Cocina at Club Calahonda).
  • On-site guests have been asked to comply with the “STAY AT HOME” rule.
  • No further guests are allowed on-site.

Although existing on-site guests were allowed to stay at Crown Resorts, most of them decided to go home following the recommendations of their Embassy or Consulate.

Crown Resorts’ staff ensured at all times that on-site guests were offered the assistance required until their departure to their home country.

We thank you for your patience and continued support.

What? Holy Week is a religious festivity celebrated by catholic brotherhoods or cofradías who take part in religious processions around the city the week befor Easter. The pasos or floats depict scenes from the Passion of Christ and are accompanied by nazarenos, the penant figures with long tunics and pointy hoods.

One of the most famous cofradías in Malaga is the María Santísima de Lágrimas y Favores de las Reales Cofradías Fusionadas brotherhood, since the Spanish actor Antonio Banderas, is a member.

Not interested in religious processions? No problem. There are plenty of other great things to do at Easter on the Costa del Sol. spring - primavera

It’s Spring at Crown Resorts!

On March 20th it will officially be Spring, one our favourite times of year at Crown Resorts. Flowers Bloom, the days are warm and pleasant, and you can happily wander around in a t-shirt. Do you want to hear some of our favourite plans for Spring? Keep reading to discover our top recommendations:

  1. Cherry blossom: as in Japan you can also see this impressive sight in Malaga. The Axarquía region in Malaga boasts row upon row of cherry trees filling fields with the stunning beauty of fruit trees in full bloom. It is popularly known as the ‘Malaga Jerte Valley’.
  2. Seaside walks on the Costa del Sol: there is nothing better than heading to the seaside and breathing in the salty air. There are several sections of boardwalks that make a pleasant route for a stroll. You can also go for the first swim of the season or simply enjoy the sun and sand.
  3. Go for a hike: one of the best areas is the along the slopes of the Tejeda mountain range, in the Axarquía area. There are some great hiking routes in that area and also some beautiful small towns in more urban areas that are worth exploring, such as Salares, Sedella, Alcaucín or Canillas de Aceituno.
  4. Istán: this small village is stunning during Spring. South of the Nieves mountain range and just a few minutes’ drive from our accommodation. Enjoy the Green river Valley, its waterways and hiking routes.

There is so much to see and do along the Costa del Sol in Spring. At Crown Resorts we can provide information and also offer a variety of activities to help you make the most of the great weather in the South of Spain. Enjoy a great family holiday with us.
