Bull fighting (Bookable through reception)
Andalucia is famed for its rearing of the 'Toros', and there are several bull rings in the area with fights held regularly from March through to October.

Jeep Safari (Bookable through reception)
Take an exciting ride into the beautiful hills and villages behind the coast. Lunch and drinks (including beer!) are included. This is a very popular trip.

Skiing
The Sierra Nevada has Europe's most southerly ski resort, Solynieve (near Granada), which recently hosted the women's world championships. The resort provides quality 'intermediate level' skiing between December and May, and is approximately 2 hours drive from the Crown Resorts.

Ronda
Parts of this spectacularly situated town date back to Moorish times. Wander round the narrow back streets or, if you've a head for heights, take a look over the bridge across the El Tajo gorge - 150 km below!

Gibraltar
The famous rock of Gibraltar is 85 km from the resorts - you can take a trip on the Cable car to see the famous Barbary Apes; or visit some of the caves and galleries that have been hewn into the Rock since the days of the Napoleonic Wars. Don't forget to take advantage of the tax-free shopping as well!

Morocco
A taste of North Africa in Tangier - it was from here that the Moors came to Spain and brought their influence to Andalucia.
NOTE
European and North American visitors wishing to go to Morocco only need passports. Other nationalities may need special paperwork.... please enquire at your Embassy.

Jerez
This is the Home of Sherry - all the larger companies offer free tours of their bodegas (wineries) on weekday mornings! Also famous for the Horse Fair which takes place in early May, and the horses of the Royal Andalucian Riding School.

Granada
The city of Granada is home to the breathtakingly beautiful Alhambra dating from the 13th century, with its fortress ('Alhambra'), the Royal Palace ('Palacio Nazaries') and the summer gardens ('Generalife').

The following destinations are well worth a visit, but an overnight stay is recommended to allow time to fully appreciate them:-

Seville (Sevilla)
The capital of Andalucia, and the home of flamenco, it has been inhabited since before the time of Julius Caesar. Buildings date from the 12th century and include the Cathedral, with the tomb of Christopher Columbus, and the Patio de los Naranjos. Worth visiting are Los Reales Alcazares and the Plaza de Espaņa.

Cordoba (Cordova)
This ancient city dates back to the Visigoths, and the earliest buildings still in existence date from Roman times. Visit La Mezquita, begun in the 8th century, the Guadalquivir river bridge, the Calahorra arab fortress and the tapas bars of the Jewish quarter ('Barrio de la Juderia')
